Head Phones

A head phone is also called as ear phone though there is a slight difference between them. A head phone is something which is big in size and it does not fit into ears completely where as ear phone fits into ears and is comparatively smaller in size. The quality of sound heard also differs from head phone to ear phone.

The cell phones today are accompanied with an ear phone definitely. The ear phone has become the mandatory accessory to be provided with cell phones. Today almost all phones have Mp3 players and media players inbuilt in them. This makes the use of ear phones necessary with cell phones.

There are added advantages of using ear phones. Think of attending a call while you are riding a bike or driving car. Doesn’t it look complicated? Ear phones make it simple. Just a press at the button in the ear phone and you can attend the call even while you are on ride. Not only calls, you could also listen to music or radio when you are on a ride.

Today, ear phones come in different shapes and sizes. There are ear phones which completely fit into ear hole like Sony Ericsson’s W550i ear phone. In some phones like Nokia there is a separate slot for the head phone, but in some phones like Sony Ericsson, Samsung, etc. the ear phone slot and the charger slot are same. So you can’t use the ear phone while you are charging the phone.

The advancement of technology has given a new dimension for earphones. The present scenario of using ear phones is wireless. Yes, Bluetooth ear phones are rocking the market. The basic requirement to use these ear phones is Bluetooth in your phone. The compatibility of your phone with those ear phones should also be checked.

The sound quality depends more on the phone than the ear phones. The ear phones provided by the cell phone manufacturer with the cell phone gives enhanced and clear sound. But when other ear phones apart from the original piece are used with cell phone, there is a possibility for damage to both the cell phone and the ear phone.

All scientific products have both advantages and disadvantages. The primary disadvantage of ear phones is that it causes ill health to the ears. Since the ear phones are very close to ear drums, high volume sound could damage the ear drums severely and there is a possibility of become deaf. The ear phones should be used as a single user device. Human ear contains a lot of bacteria. So if one uses another person’s ear phone then both of them might get affected.
